(5/4/23) Anyone looking for good quality stock birds? Richard Pearson of Kempsey has been told by his doctor all birds must go from his yard asap due to lung infection. He has top quality birds purchased from many good studs and fanciers; This is your chance to get quality birds at a very cheap rate. For full detailsof bloodlines etc contact Richard on 0265625039

(2/11/22) This will most likely be my last post on the website; Prizecards for the first 10 birds home have ben mailed out along with prizemoney. Hope you all have a great Xmas and good flying in the years ahead.

(8/10/22) I wish to thank all those who have supported my race over the last 20 odd years and wish you all good flying in the future. I will be taking an over due break from this type of pigeon event indefinitely. I have been asked by many to reconsider and continue the race but the hardships faced for the last 3 years with bushfires; covid and the health problems of the birds this year, sent to me in a batch of birds, i have had no enjoyment. I dont make money from the event and have always said I will continue while ever I enjoy it. Hasn't happend for a while. Never say never but I doubt very much I will start up again in the future, don't need the issues it causes at my time in life. Please make arrangemnets to have your entry sent back to you if you want them. asap.

(7/10/22) Birds were released at 7.15 am EDST in mostly clear sky with no wind, did 5 circles and were out of sight in a few minutes in one mob heading for home. Wind forcast is for N to NE winds light, mostly clear sky all the way. Good luck to all. I think with the limited preparation due to many factors the distance is appropriate . ETA any time after 12? Results will be posted asap but final result Saturday.
(30/9/22) Almost all have paid their entry for the survivor race. Weather still not looking good till about Friday?? Hope this will be our race day?
(27/9/22) Survivor race update. The weather continues to be an issue, especially with their limited distance training runs .In the best interest of the birds the race has been put back due to the forecast of storms and strong S to SE winds over the next week?? I have had discussions with my usual liberator and he is available to take them to my normal race point @ 450km;This will still be a good test for the birds. As soon as the weather looks OK with no E in the winds and not much rain we go; exact date unknown at this stage but I estimate Wednesday 5th Oct onwards; note ..It will not be a Thursday as liberator unavailable Thursdays. As soon as I know it will be posted.
Mud everywhere here at the moment , if the ground dries enough and weather reasonable, I will try for short 35+ km tosses before race day.

.(24/9/22) Race will carry $5000 prizemoney , there are a total of 21 unpaid birds at this time, if some are sold then prizemoney will go up accordingly

(13/9/22) Alternative arrangements are being organised from the previous post due to the CCF unable to take them weekend of 24/9/22 .National Race for them and only one Chinderah on program now.

Birds have done the workand servived all thats been thrown at them; now its time for you to pay your entry fees.$50 per bird
All birds fit enough will go to the race to be conducted, exact place not sure but possibly from Gympie; 640km 1/10/22
Full transport arrangements and location etc still under negotiation but there will be a race of at least 450km held the long weekend weather permitting.
Only those birds that have had the entry fee paid by Friday 30/9/22 are elligable for prizemoney; If money received after that , sorry they dont qualify. .
Prizemoney will be paid to the top 3 birds only and the amount depends on the number of birds that are paid for.
prizemoney will be 1st = 60%; 2nd = 25% and 3rd = 15% of money in; example, if 80 birds are paid for then total pool = $4000; 1st $2400, 2nd $1000 , 3rd $600
Spares can be entered by anyone who pays the entry fee; Unpaid for birds will become SPARES and allocated accordingly

CHANGE TO WHAT I Stated on Face Book; I was going to have it so you pick from the list and get your money in first and that will be your entry; There would be a problem If more than one person selects the same bird(s) and deposits the entry fee at same time.

Spares will be allocated by balloted to try and be fair as 20 birds have already been paid for with money left here when refunds were made. That only leaves 16 available plus any birds that fail to be entered will be classed as spares and available to how every they get allocated to. Any one who pays and misses out on sparestheir money will be refunded.

IF YOUR NOT GOING TO ENTER YOUR BIRD(S) PLEASE ADVISE SO THEY SOLD AS SPARES. IF YOUR ENTRYMONEY IS NOT IN BY THE DUE DATE

(17/6/22) A random sample of 5 birds was selected from the loft to be tested for any virus still in the birds, as expected the test show there is no trace of virus

(14/5/22) Sorry I haven't put any thing on here for a while. All test results have been received some time back and posted on FB and I forgot to do here. Only possitive results were Circo virus, worms and Coccidiosis which are treatable except the Circo which has to run it's course. All birds seem well and truely over it, working an hour 2 times a day but not to my satisfaction just yet and not ready to be tossed. Unfortuneately the Taree Forster PC that transport the birds for the club I belong to had concerns with their birds catching "the bug" if I raced and have informed me that no birds or person will be allowed to be transport with them. I did hope to race all birds west then do a survivor race when out past 400km, this is now not practical so I will be going North as usual doing the best I can to hold an event for those survivors. I am trying to negotiate some alternative body taking them for me and will let you know when I have all the details. Falcons and Goss hawks are getting a feed at least 2 times a week unfortunately. Working on that problem the best I can. Some birds injured and can't race with broken wings. I will do an audit but haven't had time at the moment due to other commitments I have about 100 spares bred that could be raced by anyone interested but more info on that later.

(25/3/22) Good news for a change; The cost for all the birds treatment etc has been calculated; I will be refunding most of your entry fees asap. The cost of the vet bill plus feed and medications works out to be $8 per bird; Refunds will be your entry paid less the $8 per bird if I have your bank details; If I have to post a cheque then it will be $2.50 less as thats what it costs me for a cheque and postage.
As a final good bye and if all goes well I will hold a "survivor race". At this stage I plan to fly all the pigeons with the local club west as part of my club race team, when we get close to the 400km mark I will notify all by FB and here that their bird is still here and you will be asked to pay a fee to race that special event. Can't say what it will be as it depends on the transport charged and number of birds available but im thinking about $50 a bird? All birds available will go regardless if entry paid or not, probably only 3 prizes. My young birds will be available for spare entries at same price ,will try to put my results on here each week for all birds sent so you can see their progress? That race will be a mass liberation with the club birds. Full details when I know more and as long as birds start training well?

(13/2/22) No good news to report; it appears the "virus" has now moved to my stock cages with squeakers there dying even they look healthy today then dead next? They have been on medication for Salmanila just incase for over a week but hasn't helped. I have been careful at all times with differnt clothes , shoes , sterilised feed equipment and always do those pens first, think the mosquitoes are carrying it??Most of what have survived in the race birds are still ok but a few from my old birds not sick before were showing signs of a problem and have been put down yesterday. Hope that by the weekend I have some news of what might be causing the problem when the rest of the lab results are due.
(8/1/22)The news is not good unfortunately; Still waiting for test results to find out what is the problem with the birds; Have used all the knowledge if gained over the last 58 years without success. I'm so disappointed but thankfull for the phone calls and messages of encouragement , still doesn't make it any easier, sorry..... I'm led to believe that I'm not alone with problems in the lofts as other OLR are also finding problems similar.; Maybe someone has infected birds and has sent to other OLR also ?? I will be a little relieved to find out what has caused this problem and then hopeful that it can be treated quickly? as soon as the test results are know I will post them on here and on FB. It has gone into my old birds now , same loft different section. At this stage hasn't gone to my stock pens. A lot of work cleaning steralizing; changing clothes etc to move between lofts twice a day. Not much time to do my other things around the place.

(15/12/21) Not alot to report at the moment; just over half of the 400 entries are in the loft at this time. Falcon annoying the babies almost every day since the rain stopped, havent seen any taken as yet but possibly could happen soon unfortunately , working on relocating the falcon but it's not cooperating.

(4/11/21)Just a quick note. Birds are starting to arrive this weekend for 2022, Make sure you fill in ENTRY FORMS with your CORRECT details. Sent cards etc out this year to address given only to have them returned, lucky to get them back as forgot to put return address on them. Dead letter office did good job of finding me and returning. Getting old I think and forgetful; Downloadentry forms form this site.
Only 16 spots left to fill and I will have the 400 I can fit this year, Sorry to restrict the numbers but have no room for more.

(9/10/21)There are still a lot of people who entered this year who have not notified me as to wtheir intentions for next year, spaces are filling fast so don't miss out?? Only 38 rings left, less than 100 spots available;
All cards, cheques, rings etc will be posted out on Monday as soon as we are out of lockdown.

(1/10/21) As of 10am this morning 148 birds have been booked for 2022, many of these are new clients; so don't miss out BOOK NOW

(24/9/21) GOOG NEWS: THE RINGS HAVE ARRIVED. Bookings will open October 1st

(21/9/21) Rings still not here unfortunately, If not here by the end of week one in october I will abandon the ring race and enrties will have to be all own ring with the cost being $65 per bird and the first 3 prizes will go up as if the ring race was on. That means 1st would be $6000 etc. No bookings till after that and I have a lot of new interest for next year and I have the feeling I will sell out quickly, some may miss out??

28/8/21) The lockdown extension means our possible race date will be 12/9/21; NO Guarantee. I have asked for a permit but NO. It depends on who you talk to as none of the people in office know what to do; all give a different answer??The one I spoke with said OK do it and when the driver asked that one said no way stay home; so we wait for the end of lockdown. Don't want a fine and be sent back.
Birds training well for about 1.5 hours two times a day. Very happy with that, If they keep that up till race day I dont think a toss will be required; if toss required it will put the race back further??

(11/8/21) Liberation report; Birds arrived at race point 6.10am, water went on. All blue sky on the way home with light NE to NW wind to about 15km/h predicted. Birds did half circle and were out of sight in a minute heading south; Good luck to all and hope for good returns so if the Northern Rivers area comes out of lockdown we are ready for the main event

(9/8/21) Sprint 2 will take place from 200km on Wednesday 11/8/21 all being well with liberation at 9 am; extra spares will be allocated for lost birds before the sprint. Check basket list Tuesday night?

(7/8/21) Due to the current covid situation accross the state I have decided NOT TO ALLOW people to come to the property from outside the local area even if those areas are not in lockdown to watch the arrival of the race birds; that is if we can still continue to hold the races? I have also decided to move all events forward as much as possible incase more areas go into lockdown. At the moment sprint 2 will possibley be held next Wednesday all being well. After that I will determine how they are for fitness etc then set the main event. A big thanks to both drivers who have informed me they can go when given the word.I have also decided to not hold pools , loft auction and guess the time this year since almost all people will not be able to attend;
Sorry to do this but I think it is the responsible thing to do under the circumstances.

(3/8/21) Prize money for this years events;
OLD birds from last year.; Sprints = 1st $100 2nd $50; main race= 1st $600 ; 2nd $200; 3rd $50. Ring Race; 1st $100; 2nd $50.
This years race; Sprints; 1st $450; 2nd $200; 3rd $100; 4th $50main race; 1st $5000; 2nd $1200; 3rd $800; 4th $500; 6th $300; 7th $200; 8th $100; 9th,10th,11th,12th $50 each Ring Race 1st 700; 2nd 300; 3rd $100

(2/8/21) Sprint one will be this Wednesday with liberation to be 11am; I have changed the day twice now from today to tomorrow and now to Wednesday for wind and rain to give birds the best chance of getting home as falcons are bad enough to contend with without having poor conditions for liberation. Basket list will be on results page tomorrow night. Lets hope they all make it home.

(20/7/21) There are a good number of spares available to anyone who wishes to pay the entry fee of $65 per bird; drawn by ballot asap. Before spares allocated for lost birds

(18/2/21) Not a lot to report except almost all booked birds are in; You have till the end of this month to put some in if you wish, will accept later by appointment if necessary. Unfortunately the preditors have been active and I know there are more birds AWOL but at this late stage most have completed their breeding so can't replace them anyway??As soon as the last birds arrive I will post a list on the "results" page of all birds in loft.

I Have listed some good transport options that may suit you on the face book page, Can't seem to get them on here?? Still learning??

(6/1/21) There are just over 200 birds in as of today and another 140 book yet to arrive, still room for another 100??

news item; New Years day we had a friendly visitor who was very hungry, poor babies that haven't done much yet were enjoying them selves when Mr F dropped in and sent them scattering every where. They got their first experience with the big bad world but to their credit out of the 190+ there all but 3 were AWOL at last nights audit. I saw the falcon take one and i'm unsure as if they just got lost or could have been taken days earlier?? over the last 2 months. Those who lost one have been informed so they may replace them if possible. Dont think these will be the only ones that go AWOL over the next 6 months??Gossy here this morning sending them to the back of loft as he jumped on the wire at front. I Will be watching close now.

(19/12/20) I have set the race dates for the 2021 races weather permiting etc. Sprint 1 .July 25th; Sprint 2 August 8th;( these 2 sprints are very variable according to conditions at the time). Main Race August 29th

(17/12/20) Happy to report more rings sold and now we have just 59 left so lets hope they go as well

(15/12/20) about 150 birds in loft doing well, sold a few more rings but still have 69 left; only enties counted are those I have a deposit for or paid in full. Would like to see all rings sold to give the max $1500 extra prize money for birds with those rings

(3/12/20) 80 rings left and boarders are now open with flights available to ship your birds, birds accepted till end of February. Air cargo to send birds is to Port Macquarie, 80km away so give me notice if shipping that way.

28/10/20) There has been over 250 garenteed starters so for with others telling me thet will enter but I only count those I have deposits for. The boarders are looking as though they will be open December to new year so everyone should be able to ship their birds January if not before?? I have had a couple of people ask if the race was going ahead as they were told?? it wasn't?? Please correct this with anyone your chatting with. WE ARE GO.

(3/9/20) Hi all; Hope you are well and managing in this difficult time of Covid.
I want to send out the rings very soon for those who ordered them and any others who want them; my only concern is that " will birds be able to be sent from interstate?" Without the Queensland; Vic, Tas and SA birds the number of entry could be well down on the 400 needed?? this would greatly affect the prize payout. If you are intending to send birds please let me know asap as after discussing with Jim Smith of Gympie and his thoughts I may have to cancel again and I dont want to do that unless absolutely necessary.

(3/6/20) Training run yesterday; Took all my birds plus the 36 one lofters approx 25km good head wind; unfortunately when liberated falcons attacked them and I watched for 15 mins as birds were hit; going down into paddocks, trees etc. One poor bugger came back to the car with large rip down its front, falcon on its tail; pigeon went into some trees down further , falcon turned and back into the mob again.
I know im 4 down of my own for sure but to hard to count till I bundle them up for the next toss. Happy to report all 34 of them made it home without injury.all arriving together with only 10 of mine straggling in after them over next 30 mins. It took the first mob 36 mins to get home, all that homed in an hour; none so far this morning
(7/4/20)The cleanup has finally been done but with the virus restrictions replacement sheds are very slow; Can't go to QLD to get unit till who knows when.
2021 race; rings are on their way?? arrival date unknown but they will not be issued till September at earliest; I hope all this virus business will be over by then?? and we can start to get ready for a good race in 2021
Bookings will start as soon as more is known as to a possible easing of our pressent restrictions.
(17/2/20)
The recovery work after the fires is almost non existent; Make safe for asbestos is the only thing done; Insurance absolutely slow as. Cant get any satisfaction as to cleanup or rebuilding time line.
Sorry no news really except that the few birds that had arrived before the fires have settled well and are heavy in the mault ; unfortunately the preditors have been around also and hungry so a few have gone AWOL Will post a list of birds still hear in a coulpe of months when I start training.

(17/11/19)
Sorry I have not been able to access my emails and website due to the bush fires for the last 8 days.

RACE CANCELLED
Due to the loss I have suffered and all the work I will have to do at the property I have reluctanly had to cancel ; I would not be able to do the best for the birds plus I don't have the funds to replace the transporter at this stage and can't see it inproving in the near future ; all resources will be stretched just to cleanup and replace fencing etc. At this stage the plan is to be going again next season and the 40 birds aready in the loft will have their own race in conjunction with the 2021 race, They will limited training till the new birds arrive for 2021 and will be the only "old birds" flown so all on similar footing to start. Refunds will be made to all others asap. You will need to send me your bank details to get the refund. Sorry if this causes anyone a problem but hope you understand my situation.

(7/11/19)
I have received entries from 8 fliers in the last few days; unfortunately NOT one had filled in an entry form and had with their birds; those who delivered in person filled them out here but those who have flown them in haven't. How can I have records of who owns what and their details like Address etc if an entry form is not completed??? Sorry I'm big on proper proceedure and keeping of records. PLEASE FILL AN ENTRY FORM and send with or before your birds arrive. I have a lot of administration to do when they come; Enterringring numbers on computer; Micro chip; vaccinate for PMV and mark they have had first shot, ( second one not till all birds in loft).
